What's that familiar sounding theme in Lesh's bass solo ('Philo Stomp')? Is that a "Feelin' Groovy" tucked in there, too?
Also, was that the first time they veered off "Morning Dew" into a different song?

Always noticed Bob's tone in this show has a unique extra "bite" of distortion that works well to highlight his style. I don't know about such settings but maybe a guitar player can explain what the effect is. I assume it is his 1972 era ES just with some adjustments for the night. Good stuff.

Bobby prominent in the mix...
Very nice! Dramatizes what we're missing when we can't
hear him at all. Also Keith is good & audible too. It's often
Bobby or Keith, but not both...

It seems that this show is overlooked a bit, which is understandable due to the many amazing performances from '72. But I think Playin' > Dark Star > Dew > Playin' should get a bit more love and respect that it does. The transition to Playin' Reprise from Dew is unique and outstanding - perfectly executed with powerful energy. Powerhouse show in Saint Louis.

nice to have an upgrade to this great show
There's some hiss during the second set but this recording is otherwise really good, and the performance is great. Playin > Dark Star > Dew > Playin is fantastic. There's some telepathic interplay in there, and a pretty sweet bass solo from Phil. Thanks for sharing!
